Clayton is a suburban city between Dayton and Englewood in southwest Ohio. Local music centers on school marching bands, church choirs, and seasonal community concerts; Dayton's larger creative community lies just to the south and absorbs much of the town's performing talent.

Park amphitheater concerts, church fellowship halls, and municipal celebrations provide most live music opportunities. Dayton's Oregon District and nearby Englewood restaurants host the regular club and acoustic circuit.

Clayton does not claim notable recording artists; local and regional musicians perform here, with Dayton-area players occasionally crossing north for community events.

Audition for Clayton's summer concert series and volunteer for church music programs. Once comfortable on stage, expand into Dayton open mics and coffeehouse nights.
