Boonton is a Morris County town along the Rockaway River with a historic downtown and commuter population. School bands, church choirs, and community theater supply local music, while Main Street restaurants host occasional acoustic acts. Newark and Morristown musicians head west for private events.

Performances happen at the high school auditorium, a community center, church fellowship halls, local bars and restaurants, and a downtown park pavilion. Boonton has no large dedicated venue.
