Detroit gave the world two distinct musical revolutions; the Motown Sound, forged at Hitsville USA, and techno, born in the Belleville suburbs. The Motown studio perfected a formula of tight rhythm sections and orchestral pop arrangements. Decades later, the Belleville Three created electronic music using analog synthesizers, establishing Detroit as the spiritual home of techno.
