Presque Isle is the commercial center of Aroostook County in northern Maine, surrounded by potato farmland and forests. School bands, church choirs, and country cover bands at local bars form the music core. Bangor musicians drive north for festivals and special events.

Performance spaces include the high school auditorium, community center, American Legion hall, county fairgrounds, and local bars and restaurants. Presque Isle has no large dedicated venue.

Local and regional artists perform here, with musicians from the nearby Bangor scene occasionally passing through.
