Monroe is a small city east of Atlanta with a historic downtown and a surrounding rural character. Church choirs, school bands, and local bar acts provide the music, while Atlanta musicians often drive east for festival dates and private events.

Music happens at downtown restaurants, church fellowship halls, the community center, and the county fairgrounds. Monroe has a handful of local rooms, but most touring acts continue on to Athens or Atlanta.

Local and regional artists perform here, with musicians from the nearby Atlanta scene occasionally passing through.
