Miami Gardens is a young city in northern Miami-Dade that became known when the Rolling Loud hip-hop festival moved to Hard Rock Stadium. Before that, the area had no distinct music history. Musical identity is inherited from the broader Miami-Dade hip-hop, R&B, and Caribbean scenes.

Miami Gardens has few dedicated music venues. The Hard Rock Stadium hosts large concerts and Rolling Loud, but this is a major event center, not a local scene. Small clubs along NW 27th Avenue host reggae and hip-hop nights. Most serious live music happens south in Miami proper.

Miami Gardens itself has not produced widely known recording artists, though the broader Miami-Dade area is one of the most important hip-hop regions in the world. Some local underground rap artists have built small followings. The area is more a consumer of music than a producer.

Connect with the Miami hip-hop and reggae scenes, 15 to 25 minutes south. Open mics and producer showcases in Miami neighborhoods like Wynwood and Little Haiti offer the best entry points. Local churches have strong music ministries that develop vocal talent.
