Antioch is a working-class East Bay suburb where local blues, classic rock cover bands, and Mexican regional music are staples at neighborhood bars. About 40 miles east of San Francisco, residents often travel west for major concerts. Local output is modest but centered on community events.

Live music happens at local bars, family restaurants, and community spaces. The El Campanil Theatre hosts occasional concerts in a historic downtown setting. For bigger or more diverse shows, Oakland and Berkeley are a 20 to 30-minute drive west.

Antioch has not launched major national artists, but local and regional bands from the East Bay perform here. The punk band Antioch Arrow, formed in the 1990s, took its name from the city.

Musicians should start at open mics in downtown cafes and waterfront bars. The community center and library host occasional cultural performances. Building a presence means connecting with East Bay networks in Oakland and Concord.
